Garage Door Cable & Roller Repair on Cape Cod, MA

The cables, rollers, hinges, and tracks are the quiet hardware that keeps your door moving straight and level. When a cable frays or a roller seizes, the door drags, jumps, or comes off its track entirely, and forcing it only does more damage. Rick repairs cables, rollers, hinges, and bent tracks across Cape Cod at one fixed, all-in price.

Signs of a cable or roller problem

  • The door is crooked, sticks, or looks like it’s leaning to one side
  • A cable is hanging loose, frayed, or has slipped off the drum
  • Grinding or squealing rollers, or a roller that’s popped out of the track
  • The door has jumped partly off its track and won’t close evenly
  • Rust and wear visible on the cables, rollers, or hinges

What Rick does

He inspects the whole lift system: both cables, every roller and hinge, and the track alignment. A coastal garage rarely wears out just one part. He replaces the frayed cables and worn rollers, straightens or replaces damaged track, re-seats the door, and balances it so the opener isn’t fighting a crooked load. Because cable and spring failures so often travel together, he’ll check your springs at the same time. If the door is beyond a sensible repair, he’ll walk you through a new door honestly. Common questions

My garage door came off its track. Is that dangerous?

Yes. An off-track door is unbalanced and can fall or jam under tension. Stop using the opener and don't try to force it back on; the cables are under load. Call Rick and leave it where it is. Forcing it usually turns a cable job into a bent-track and panel job.

Why do cables and rollers wear out on the Cape?

Salt air corrodes the thin steel strands of a lift cable and rusts roller bearings and hinges. Add the freeze-and-thaw of a coastal winter and parts that would last years inland start to fray, seize, and squeal. A little rust on a cable is a warning worth acting on before it snaps.

Let’s get that door working again.
